Change of pace. For the 30 Day Challenge this week, I’ve decided to move from “Inspiration” inspired posts to great “Musical Finds” that have come my way recently. I was not going to post the amazingness that is K Pop…I can’t completely abide by that so I’ll only subject you to only one K Pop masterpiece this week, lol.
Today’s great find is Back Room Deals by a band called East River Pipe. I came across them when trolling the net for new music some months ago and only recently decided to listen to the album I found (We Live In Rented Rooms). It’s so amazingly good. This track sounds like it was recorded in the 70s (I get a little bit of Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust sound in there) but still sounds completely fresh in today’s music arena. I really like them. I did a little research and they’ve been around since the early 90s. They also have some great lyrics that feel so true:
“Backroom deals.
The whole world is made on back room deals.
You better get used it. You better get used it it.
Backroom deals.
I go to work each day and grease the wheel.
I better get used to it. I better get used to it.
Back room deals.”
